On October 13, 2022, the Forest Resources Association and STIHL Incorporated honored Andrew Miller, Mark Byler and Wes Miller of A.M. Logging as the FRA 2022 Appalachian Region Outstanding Logger. A.M. Logging is honored to receive this award, which also qualifies us for FRA’s National Outstanding Logger Award that will be presented next spring. FRA’s Outstanding Logger Award program is designed to raise the visibility of professional logging contractors and to encourage other loggers to adopt the performance of the award winners.

A.M. Logging has always strived to use every part of the trees they harvest for zero waste. We harvest and sell logs, whole tree chips, flail chips, pulpwood and mulch. We provide logs, chips and residuals from the forest to multiple wood-consuming partners in the region.

We also support and participate in Sustainable Forestry Initiative training. This training helps improve safety, environmentalism, productivity and professionalism of forest industry members. We do our best to make a difference in the industry and the community while meeting the needs of our customers.

After receiving the award, Andrew Miller said, “We never started out looking to win this award, we just wanted to do a good job for our landowners and our buyers, while making a living.”

Mark Byler said, “I am here to accept the award, but this could not happen without the hard work of our people.”

Again, we are greatly honored to receive this award, and we will continually work to meet the needs of our customers by providing premium wood products and quality service, while also caring for the environment.
